Bhaktivedanta International Academy for Applied Spiritual Technology near IIT Bhubaneswar* This will be a youth Mental Wellbeing & Healthcare Centre for Youth. We don’t call it hospital simply because if a youth suffering from mental illness, addictions, anxiety, stress, trauma etc. is being told that he is being taken to a mental hospital for treatment – naturally it will be embarrassing to him, his family before friends & relatives. Because of the fear of such embarrassment many youth those who actually need mental health treatment & support generally refrain from it.

Academy on the other hand will give more emphasis on the ‘Prevention is better than Cure’ Principle & the short term & long term certificate courses are designed in such a way that Mental health is taken into account with Employability Enhancement side by side.ISKCON has signed an MOU with Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India (MOU attached) for undertaking activities under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) & thus de-addiction, an integral part of mental hospital, is part of our upcoming academy.

We will be working on non clinical approach.ISKCON is also working in collaboration with many health care professionals, psychiatrists, counsellors etc. from various prestigious medical institutions like AIIMSAcademicians & others, those who are working closely with youth, are aware and must be definitely concerned about the problems that they undergo.

Suicidal rates have increased multifold and crimes have become rampant. Others are facing pressure, going through depression, acute anxiety disorders, insomnia, phobias etc. Loneliness, addictions, lack of self confidence, inferiority, lack of trust, fickle mind, loss of attention span etc. are the symptoms of individual under crisis. Not just individuals, societies or nations but the ecology and environment are also at stack & the list is endless.

Interestingly these symptoms are manifesting not due to problems outside but inside. Lust, anger, pride, greed, envy, attachments, ego, uncontrolled mind & senses are the enemies inside and must be fought with – immediately before it becomes too late.

Our current education system is focused on providing youth with career competence & employability but somewhere character building & effective systems for Harmonising Body, Mind & Soul has been neglected.To address these issues in depth – both logically and scientifically, to provide suitable medications or antidotes against these internal enemies and to train as many mentors, coaches, guides as possible – well equipped with transcendental knowledge, wisdom and techniques in Yoga & Meditation – ISKCON Bhubaneswar is coming up with this centre not very far from IIT Bhubaneswar campus.

Bhaktivedanta International Academy for Applied Spiritual Technology will be having two wings, *Bhaktivedanta Yuva Udyami Chetana Kendra* for Skill Development & *Bhaktiventa Yuva Adyatmik Jagruti Kendra* is Youth Mental Health Wellness Centre.

This project covers multiple CSR Themes from schedule VII of the Companies Act and we are expecting some important PSUs to help us in this project.The amazing part of the project is that it is situated at the primmest location : in front of IIT Bhubaneswar main gate. NISER & Upcoming Institute of Chemical Technology are very close. It will thus attract thousands of visitors,VIPs and others who would visit these prestigious institutes.
